About David Bacon

Stamped Gyro at Birth

"I had my first gyroplane flight at 18 months old. By age 5 I was flying solo circuits in the desert — takeoffs, S-turns, landings. Gyroplanes weren't a hobby in our household. They were life."

— David Bacon, Founder & CFI, Rotor Adventures

David's father was a Bensen dealer and president of PRA Chapter 31. Twice a month, the California desert filled with gyroplanes and the community that flew them. Decades later, that same hands-on passion drives every student and customer at Rotor Adventures.

Why a Gyroplane?

A gyroplane cannot aerodynamically stall.

SAFETY

The rotor is in autorotation 100% of the time during flight — generating lift independently of the engine at all speeds. This is not a marketing claim. It is the physics of autorotative lift, and it is the reason gyroplane pilots sleep soundly.

If you are searching for the most cost effective way to become a pilot then gyroplane training is your answer. Add your type ratings for either helicopter or airplane later through one of our friends and save money.
